Where it comes from
Grew up on Buzzards Bay
Joe Guard grew up on the waters of Buzzards Bay and has been a resident of southeastern Massachusetts his whole life. He has a strong passion for the ocean and for everything to do with boating and sailing, and he has run his own service-oriented business since graduating from North Carolina State University in 1994.
He began brokering boats professionally in 2004. At first that meant Regulators and nothing else; word of mouth from customers who were delighted with the service did the rest, and by 2012 he had founded Falmouth Yacht Sales.
Joe has been a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain since 2000, and he would rather share what he knows — engine repair, boat handling, anything in between — than close a deal you are not sure about. That goes for someone choosing their fiftieth boat and for someone deciding what their first one should be.
